Show 4005 Kane- C 2025 Q What is that? A That was too much. MR. FARNSWORTH: I move to strike that out. Q Just pay attention to the question. I didn't ask whether you thought it was much or little, or good, or bad -- MR. BLACKMAR: I object to Mr. Farnsworth lecturing the witness. THE SPECIAL MASTER: That is part of his answer, Mr. Farnsworth. MR. FARNSWORTH: That is not responsive, your Honor. ( There upon the reporter road the last preceding question and answer as follows:) " Q. You don't think the draft was to exceed four-teen inches? " A. I don't think so; that was too much." THE SPECIAL MASTER: I don't think that is responsive; strike that out, " that was too much". You must remember, though, Mr. Farnsworth, the wit-nesses do not always appreciate the difference in law between what is responsive and what is not. MR. FARNSWORTH: Not in any sense critical of the witness; he doesn't appreciate that; I wanted to tell him to pay attention to the question and answer the question, is all. Of course, I didn't mean anything offensive to the witness, and I don't think the witness so understood it. |
