Show 4043A Zahn- D 2064 BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q If you were thirty years old when you went in there it would be the year 1902 that you went in, wouldn't it? A If you figure on ages, yes. Q This pump was how large? A Well, the Henry R. Worthington pumps were four- inch intake, two and a half inch discharge; one it at the bottom of the river, one is on top of the bench; there was another centrifugal pump there, six- inch pump, that is mounted down at the river. I never used that on any occasion. Q You used the two- four inch pump, did you, in this dry year? A Yes. Q I assume they didn't exactly take the entire flow of the stream, did they? A No; I had all the water diverted over there, but they didn't take all the water. Q Did they take half the water? A No. Q Did they take ten per cent of the water? A I should judge so, yes. Q Of course that would be merely a guess, wouldn't it? A Yes. Q When these pumps were operating, what amount of water went through them? |
