Q How long did you continue to stay in that country after you went in there in 1902? A About three months. Q And those three months were what months of the year? A June, July and August. Q What was the condition of the river during the three months that you were there, as you saw it? A When I arrived there, about the first of June; it was pretty high; it gradually went down, and along about in the latter part of July it dried up completely. A Yes, kept getting lower all the time, just before it dried up completely. Q Then after it started to run again was it high or low water or how was it? A I didn't see it at that point when it started; we left the day it started to rain; that was along about the first of September; but I saw it at another point. |
