Show 4075 Sawyer- D 2096 of the machinery was taking place. Q While what? A While the loading of the machinery on the boats was taking place. Q Where was this boat located? A It was located about twenty- five miles below Greenriver, near Wimmer's ranch, I think, what is known as Wimmer's ranch. Q What kind of boat did they have there? A We had several boats. Q What boats did you have? A To carry the boiler and the engine, casing and drill rods, and so forth, Mr. Richardson had had built two scows, approximately six by twenty- four; these were decked over on top, leaving a five- foot space in between, and the boiler, engine mounted on these two scows to give us a little motive power. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q I don't understand what you mean by " in between". Between the two scows? A The two scows were separated a distance of five feet, and held in place by the decking. Q So they practically made one boat? A Yes sir. ( Complainant's Exhibit 263, was thereupon marked by the reporter.) |
