Show 3971 Kane- D 1991 A The first thing, when we got our boats on the water, before they were loaded, we did some practice rowing, so we could work together; there was two oarsmen in each boat, and a steersman. Mr. Stanton got a man in New York for this trip that was a fine amateur oarsman, had been single skull champion of the east, and his brother and he double skull champions, amateur. His name was Langdon Gibson; his brother was O. O. Gibson, the artist; they were both fine oarsmen; this was Langdon Gibson. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Was Langdon Gibson on this trip? A Yes.
