Show 3969 Kane- D 1989 Q Mr. Kane, were you in the room while Mr. Edwards was testifying? A Yes sir. Q You heard his description of the Stanton boats? A Yes. Q And does his description coincide with your recollec-tion of the charact4er of those boats? A Yes. Q Do you recall anything that he omitted that you would like to add to it? A No, I think not. Q I wish you would go ahead, please, and tell me your recollection of the progress of this expedition from Greenriver, Utah, down to the mouth of the San Juan. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Will you describe, a little, the kind of weather it was. I think that has not been described by any witness. A We left Denver, I believe, on the 28th day of November, and of course it was quite cold in that country, chilly, but when we got to Greenriver, a couple of days after-wards, it was fairly good weather, lower elevation, and we were there for several days, packing up the boats and getting them on the wagon, and the first night out, the first camp out, it was raining, and at night it snowed. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Just a little louder. |
