Report on the Parasitic Hymenoptera of the Island of Grenada, comprising the Families Cynipidce, Ichneu-monidcs, Braconidce, and Proctotrypidee. By W I L L I AM H. ASHMEAD.1 [Eeceived October 18, 1895.] Through the kindness of Dr. C. V. Eiley, I have been enabled furnish the report upon the specimens of parasitic Hymenoptera, comprising the families Cynipidce, Ichneumoniclce, Braconidce, and Proctotrypidee, collected by Mr. Herbert H. Smith in the Island of Grenada. The collection was transmitted to Dr. Eiley to be worked up, by Dr. David Sharp on behalf of the Committee for investigating the Flora and Fauna of the West-Indian Islands. In the families Ichneumonidce and Braconidce comparatively few specimens were taken, and, although some few species were found to be new to science, the majority were already known, many of them having been described quite recently by the writer in his report upon the St. Vincent Hymenoptera. The family Ichneumonidce was represented by only nine species, 1 Communicated by Dr. D. SHARP, F.R.S., F.Z.S., on behalf of the Committee for investigating the Flora and Fauna of the West-Indian Islands. |
