SITE CONSIDERATIONS The new bunkhouse should be tied into the BOR water and waste systems. Electrical supply is present and propane is readily available. IV. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS A. General The primary purpose of the bunkhouse will be to provide reasonably comfortable and safe living quarters for 12 people. The existing bunkhouse will be converted into a shop by removing the kitchen, bunkbeds, washer/dryer, and showers. Nonstructural walls should be removed. B. Architectural Modular construction of the new bunkhouse can be considered. Two standard 14 ft. by 56 ft. units would provide the needed space . Separate male/female sleeping, toilet and bath accommodations will need to t A provided. Other rooms should include a living room, kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry room, and storage for brooms, vacuums and cleaning supplies. The kitchen or kitchenette should include cabinets, table for up to 10, a bar for 3, and counter space. Sleeping quarters should include closets or wall lockers and chest of drawers. The living room and sleeping quarters should be carpeted. C. Appliances The kitchen will require a stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. The laundry room will need a washer and dryer. A large size commercial water heater will also be needed. D. Plumbing A sink will be necessary in the kitchen and laundry rooms. The bathrooms should contain three shower stalls (one stall per four employees), two-three toilets and a urinal, and three-four sinks. F. Mechanical Heating could be either baseboard electrical heat or propane. The building will be used for only short periods in the winter; heat in the summer is needed for cold mornings. |
