Show 2 in 1964. The SO-acre administrative site does not have National Forest status as it is outside the National Forest Boundary and has been designated as an administrative site. The present buildings and other improvements on the site are minimal a.nd are not adequate for existing or future Forest Service Administrative needs. The Bureau of Reclamation would propose to construct a combination office and lab building, a six-car garage, and four trailer pads, all to be enclosed by a security fence. The deve~opment would include an access road, water, sanitatio~, and other improvements necessary to provide a functional office and laboratory facility on the administrative site. In anticipation of the potential use of the Forest Service Administrative Site, the Bureau of Reclamation has acquired a small triangular parcel of land totaling 1.94 acres that is necessary for acces, to the administrative site from the North Fork Duchesne River Road. For several years, there has been discussion with the State Highway Department on the potential improvement of State Route. 35 from the Stockmore Administrative Site west over Wolf· Creek Summit to the Francis-Kamas area. This road is presently graded and grained, but is normally rough and in poor condition. The road is closed during the winter months but often used by people from Hanna and Tabiona for access to Salt Lake City in the summer. One alternative for the potential reconstruction of State Route 35 in this vicinity would involve removal of some existing improvements at the Stockmore Administrative Site. The proposed office, lab, garage, trailer pads, and utilities des~ cribed in the Site Plan for these facilities would not interfere with potential improvement of the State Route 35. The present administrative site is located adjacent to State Highway 35 in riverbottom type vegetation. Room to expand in this area is limited because of a very narrow strip of land below the bench on which the proposed administrative facilities would be situated. The new facilities would be located within the existing horse pasture in a sagebrush-bitterbrush vegetative type. This area is gently sloping on a 2 to 5 percent grade. The total fenced yard within which the lab, garage, and trailer pads will be located is about 260 feet by 190 feet. The access road would be north and west of the fenced yard. II.
