Show INTERVIEW: Francisco Solaria Page 61 MS: Oh, I just loved it. And since then, I thought, well, I'd like to take my children over because, see, they don't know ---they used to ah---hear these people from over here from Colorado and that, you know, that they didn't even want to be called Mexicans and that, and they thought well, maybe it's something that you're not proud of, or you'd be ashamed of, and I thought well, I just have to bring them over so they can see,---- FO: Mmm-hmm. MS: And meet and talk to the people and see how it is, you know,---FO: Mmm-hmm. MS: ----And then they will be proud, you know, like I am. But right now, I tell them, and they said, oh, really, is that true? You know, but I never did---I never was able to take them back, and then so now, they're married, and--and it's a little harder to get them together. FO: Much harder. MS: But they sure'd like to go, you know, get together all of them and---and go. · They think it really would be a---a fun time if we could. FO: When you went back ah---to Mexico in 1950, was it as you had remember it? MS: It was---it was ah---a lot better, you know. |
