Show INTERVIEW: Cordova Page 39 law passed away, well, we got pretty well acquainted, well, she came to work for me, actually that is how we got pretty well acquainted, she says, 'You know, my father Joe says that your father-in-law says if Al sticks with Nell, boy, he is going to be alright.' So he did, he thought we got along very well to-gether. Of course, I wasn't very much in favor of opening the restaurant because it interfered with my life. Right now that I am left alone I am glad that I have it. I wasn't actually, / I just wasn't, Mr. Cordova was a worker, he was a thinker. He was an organizer and he was the one that put all these, his thoughts together and he says that we are going to do this, and we are going to do that. So he was a businessman really. He was a good businessman. At the time I didn't think too much of it. But actually I am happy now because I have the restaurant and I can close when I want to and can open when I want to because I am established and I have my customers and I know that they will always be back even if I ... but people to this day, they always remember Mr. ~ordova and say, 'Oh, I remember when he used to come and he used to play tricks on the people ... ' No, one and this was, was it Manuel Garcia? ... and I know that he married just about this time. BM What about the time when you got married?
