BM No, and were they affiliated with any political organization? EC No, even at that time, way back then at that time they didn't have the civic center like they do now. It was just, well , Mexican Blue Cross is the only thing that I can remember, because I remember having a flag, white with the blue cross. BM It was a white flag wi th a blue cross? EC Blue cross, yes. That was our emblem. BM Could you giv£ me an estimate of about how many people, Mexican people that were in this organization? EC Well , that would be pretty hard. I would say about fifty or sixty adults. BM And how many of those that were in that organization are alive now? EC Well, I would say about ten per cent of them. BM Manuel Torres is one of them? EC Manuel Torres was one and Mr. G6mez. Then there was a Raymond Garcia. Raymond's mother and father, I am not sure they were very active, but they both passed away. That is all I can think |
