Show INTERVIEW: Francisco Solaria Page 16 FS: everything you know. He was really kind and good to me, and I used to go down to his home. But there, see, the, I guess, the reason was that there was a Mexican there, about two or three years before we moved there, that was in a gambling place there, and they was going to stop that, then sheriff went up there and was going to stop the poker game. There wasn't a poker game or something, that's the way I heard it. So he was taking all the money, I think he got shot. So this fellow, he got out and start running getting all the town was after him. Took them about four or five, eight hours to catch him. They finally killed him. And I think that's ----to me, I think that was the reason. VM: Do you remember, do you remember, did they ever mention the name of the---of the Mexican, what was his name? FS: Rico. VM: Rico? FS: Yes. VM: Enrico? FS: I don't remember his first name, but his last name was Rico. VM: Rico. And that was about 1922, when this happened? FS: No, that was ah, yes, probably it was, yes, in 1922. VM: What did they----lynch mob go after him, this type of thing. |
