Show INTERVIEW: Cordova Page 36 EC Oh, I don't know, I guess the Civic Center, the Mexican Civic Center. They have been trying for years and years to do things, but I can't see where they are successful at all. BM Could you, was your husband instrumental in getting that organization started? EC This, no, no. He found out that they weren't too united, they didn't work together. They pulled apart. There weren't too many that would agree on things. 'Well, I want· it this way, ' 'No, it would be better this way.' Then another person would say, 'Well, I want it this way.' There was no unity. Absolutely no unity. So Mr. Cordova said, 'Well, this will never amount to anything, not the way they go.' I can say to this day they have a building over there, but that is about all they got. You know, everything that they have, they have it up to the Terrace. They would ha~e had over all these years, thirty, I daresay forty years they have been working on collecting money and accumulating money and getting money together for this building. I don't know what it is like, I have never been on over there. Have you ever been in that building? BM Yes, it is not that big, it is not very big, not as nice as the Terrace, as big as the Terrace.
