A Yes. Q For use on your placer mine. A Yes, I had to dig a ditch -- BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Was there any such occasion, Mr. Zahn? A There was. BY MR. BALCKMAR: Q Tell me just how you did that. A I just had to ditch the water over. Q Sir? A I had to ditch the water over to the intake of the pump, just like you were making an irrigating ditch, just had to ditch it over and bank it up, the water was so low, had to take a shovel and ditch it over. Q How far up the river did you go to make this ditch? A Probably one hundred and fifty feet; as I recollect, about one hundred and fifty feet. Q Did you have some kind of reservoir near the pump, or |
