Ute Agency Stevens approve Patten's expense report for the trip to Albuquerque to deliver 24 boys and 3 girls to the Indian School. June 7, 1883 Bryan, R. W. D., Supt., Albuquerque Indian School Letter to Warren Patten, So. Ute Agency The children are doing well. The commissioner has decided not to fund new buildings at this time. Bryan asks Patten's help in persuading the commissioner to give the school new buildings. June 15, 1883 Bryan, R. W. D., Supt. Albuquerque Indian School Letter to Warren Patten, So. Ute Agency Bryan sends messages from several of the students, along with samples of their writing. He asks that the parents be persuaded not to send money to the children. June 16, 1883 Patten, Warren, Agent, So. Ute Agency Letter to R. W. D. Bryan, Supt. Albuquerque Indian School Patten sends $ 144.80 to Bryan for distribution to the children. Children's names are listed with the amount each is to receive. The money is from their parents. June 23(?), 1883 Patten, Warren, Agent, So. Ute Agency Letter to H. M. Teller, Secretary of Interior Patten informs the secretary that he is unable to determine to whom the Ute Indians sold their sheep. The Indians are satisfied with the trade they made. The children at the Albuquerque school need new buildings for the winter. |
