Ute School The assistant commissioner explains that Utes received allotments under the Act of Feb. 20, 1895, and that the Office does not object to test cases being brought to show Federal jurisdiction over crimes committed on the Southern Ute Indians' allotments, but in the case in question the agent should release the prisoner because of doubtful jurisdictional authority to hold him.
