Ute Agency Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Recommends the erection of a new school plant at Navajo Springs with a capacity of 7 5 pupils. Aug. 31, 1903 (?), Dorothy Letter to J. O. Smith Recounts her experience at the school and why she was assigned the room she had. Also that the photograph in question has not been seen by her, but that she had witnessed it being posed for. Oct. 14, 1903 Peterson, W. M., Supt., Ft. Lewis School Letter to Jos. O. Smith, Supt., So. Ute Agency Smith is to bring two students to his school who are living in the Ignacio area with relatives. Keep them there until arrangements can be made to return them to the Ft. Lewis School. Oct. 29, 1903 Peterson, W. M., Supt., Ft. Lewis School Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Supt. writes that school is slowly filling with students. Many parents at first refused to send their children, but have gradually accepted the school idea. Trips to the reservation take weeks away from the school.
