Show Education - 218 Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Peterson reports the death of Anito Brice, the second pupil to die at the school. Anito was a girl about eleven years old, who the Utes had sold to the Navajos. She was rescued and sent to the school. Jan. 24, 1906 Peterson, W. M., Supt., Ft. Lewis School Letter to Wm. Atty, Denver Peterson sends the findings of the investigation he made in the matter of water rights for the Ft Lewis School. He sends documents, which are listed. ( Documents not attached.) E., Commissioner of Indian Affairs Letter to Agents and Bonded Superintendents The commissioner requests information about the public schools located on Indian reservations and the attendance of Indian children. Apr. 14, 1906 Spear, John S., Supt., Ft. Lewis School Letter to Mr. & Mrs. R. H. Head Spear informs the parents of Lucy that she was not forced to go out to work, but wanted to do so. She is working in a good home and " learning the way a white woman works in her own home." If Lucy wants to return to the school she may do so. |
