Show Claims - 129 Oct. 12, 1948 Mills, George, Carl Baker, E. Ellison Hatfield Contract Contract between the Ute Mountain Tribe and E. Ellison Hatfield of Durango, Colorado. Hatfield is to assist and advise in all legal matters and business affairs. Enclosed: Council Resolution No. 103, Aug. 20, 1948, re: Authorization for contract with Hatfield; James M. Noland Affadavit, Aug. 20, 1948, re: certification of Mills, Baker, and Hatfield signatures; William Zimmerman note, Oct. 12, 1948, re: approval of contract. Ute and Ute Mountain Council Meeting Attorney Wilkinson discussed claims against the government, money from the settlement and possible new suits. Wilkinson explained why money from claims settlement had not been received yet but it was drawing interest. Oct. 8, 1951 Mills, George, Chairman A Plan for the Rehabilitation of the Ute Mountain Ute Indian through the Use of Land Claim Payments The plan was passed by resolution of the Tribal Council on Oct. 3, 1951. The plan outlines what use is to be made of the money gained in the land claims case. Most money to be used for development on reservation. $ 3500 to be given as per capita payments.
