Ute School Smith is advised that the Office has decided to divided the responsibilities of the agency between the school at Ignacio and that at Ft. Lewis. Supt. Peterson, of Ft. Lewis, will be responsible for the western half of the reservation. FRCD/ RG 75 Apr. 4, 1904 Supt., Ft. Lewis School Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Supt. countered accusations against the employees at Navajo Springs, vouching for the efficiency and honesty of Mr. Bluff, clerk. He also denied allegations that Mr. Lamb, the contract physician, had been supplying Indians with whiskey. The Supt. referred to water situation as " well known... condition which can be improved." |
