Show 2. tection - related to water uses? Do we emphasize Wild and SScenic River protection? Do we "assemble" other group &££QPBS Into individual issues of importance at a particular time, i.e., itfee, law suit of CAP? What should the parameters be? 2. What Is the most effective organizational opportunity to achieve these goals? An inter-organization group effort concentrated on the Basin resources through the Coalition? An Independent all new organization - one competing for dollar support? An outreach of an existing organization? Other? - Pat did not indicate what kind of Coalition organization he thought might work best. I have no idea what response we would get to this cooperative idea as set fotrbli in the Draft from EDF, Trout Unlimited, American Wilderness Alliance, the National Audubon Society, the Sierra Club, The Wildlife Management Institue, F.O.E. - or whoever we contact. 3- How will the Coalition be funded? While I have initiated a dollar support from Interested organisations, I do not think funding must be limited to this option. 4. Who will be the Guiding Directors and how will they function? Having said this, I will propose some answers. 1. An all-issue organization - In order to broaden public interest and support. This doesn't mean there would not be orlorities or structure to the activities. B. Sufficient Coalition staff or structure to enable a Coalition to - aa.Inform and cooperate with the Coalition constituency working on Basin Issues (State Chapters, independent groups, i.e. CRCUP, CAP, Regional Reps., etc.) - someone to actively oversee and manage these contacts (not just push paper or buttons) - someone to prepare the communications and the medium for this - someone to man an operating center; this could be a "shared" office and space or a home base. It could be located at some major center where contacts and informa-b. estabioHjisjffiore readily available. It could be "moveable". C. Esbablshment of the Advisory relationships - the Guiding policies on issues and actions. D. Providing opportunity for an initial organizational effort to meet and consult with constituent members, offices and/or Agencies (or whatever): to explain, discuss, purposes, planning and coordination. |
