Show Developing a visual resource management strategy for this viewshed would include investigating some of the following topics: • Identify areas of visual significance and sensitivity • Identify important near and far ( panoramic) view areas • Identify compatible activities and viewshed impacts • Identify scenic travel corridors • Describe the landscape setting ( land uses, landforms, vegetation patterns) ( Columbia River Gorge Commission and USDA Forest Service, 1992) These are a few topics that distinguish GSL ecosystems from other ecosystems and could facilitate development of visual resource management goals and objectives. This information might also become a part of future resource allocation and assist in decision- making. 160 |
