Explains that the school situation was not accurately portrayed in the report. Agrees with most of what was reported about Ute Mountain, but questions the recent office letter which states that the Ute Mountain Utes have accepted the IRA. Ute Agency Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Reports that the Ute Mountain Council agreed during a meeting at Blanding to adjust enrollments at the Ute Mountain School and at the Blanding dormitory by sending Navajos to Shiprock and some older pupils to Ignacio. This would reduce the Towaoc Boarding School enrollment to 60. |
