Jeff Jonas, Sally Breinholt, Mike Hurd, Dave Jensen and Larry Jackstien.The Senate worked toward the goal of being a vital force in the awakening of the student body through consideration of issues on campus and national and international levels. After study and debate letters of opinion were sent by the Senate to Utah's representatives in Washington. Letters concerned such things as disarmament, House Un-American Activities Committee, U.S.tarrif policy, United Nations, nuclear testing, federal aid to higher education and civil liberties. The Senate involved itself with such campus issues as the question of new library construe-tion, the University insurance program, constitutional amendment concerning penalties of law violation and Election Committee traveling voting booth. |
