Show In the past school year the Residence Halls Association has continued to grow and become a successful social, scholastic, and political power on the University of Utah campus. The reason for this boom in activities is largely due to the hard work and long hours offered by the officers of the RHA. Their work and the growth of the RHA has been noted and commented on all over campus, and examples are readily apparent. There has been an ever growing number of social exchanges among the dorms and with other social groups on this and other campuses in the area. Twist dances, pajama parties, and the-annual RHA Luau have spotlighted the year for the dorm resi-dents.Politically, the influence of the dorms has been felt both in the elections of class and student body officers. Next year the RHA will possess a greater voting power than any other single group on campus. The student government of the dorms is one of the most functional groups of its kind. It has been active in organizing and participating in local, regional, and national residence halls groups for some time.Scholastically, this year the dorms have expanded and diverged into many new fields. The Residence Halls Scholastic Award was presented to the individual unit having the highest grade point average. The over-all average of the halls was consistently above that of many other similar groups on campus. Thus in the many areas of student life, the Resident Halls Association has continued to assume a larger role and to become a more influential body at the University.Monty Hunter Publicity ChairmanShirleen Shields First Vice PresidentSuzi Anderson Recording SecretarySusan Smith Correspondence SecretaryJim Simmonds TreasurerDan Raven PresidentJohn Mason (not present) Second Vice President |
