Lowell Uda, associate editor; Robert Browning, editor; and Ra> Larsen, art editor.The Pen staff this year initiated a series of readings featuring Brewster Ghiselin of the English department and Francis Ebejer, visiting Fullbright Scholar from Malta. The quarterly magazine also made awards for outstanding literary contributions in the fields of poetry, fiction and non-fiction writing.The Pen is fifty-two years old. Founded in 1910, the magazine has appeared every year but two since then. This year the Pen's fiftieth volume was published. The staffs hope is to maintain and further a respected tradition by publishing the best creative and scholarly material available to them, to seek to stimulate freshmen, and to expand the insights and interests of all students - writers and readers, artists and viewers - through the facility of a mature magazrne and through related literary activties.227 |
