Show The Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps at the University has a mission to instruct qualified young men to become officers in the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Both regular and re-serve commissions are offered. In addition to the normal university curriculum, each midshipman receives courses in seamanship, navigation, weapons, engineering and leadership preparation for his military service. Classroom study is supplemented by summer cruises with the fleet andindoctrination visits to Naval Air Stations and Marine Corps Bases. Upon graduation, the new marine or naval officer assumes his position of responsibility along with others who have gone before him.An additional function of the NROTC unit is to administer the Navy Enlisted Scientific Education Program which brings to the University outstanding Navy men and Marines and provides them with a commission after graduation.r r ¦ r " ' "HHIIHHHCaptain F.
