Show The pounding of typewriters and the assimilation of information about campus life characterizes the Daily Utah Chronical office. Paper staffers busy themselves by writing stories and headlines, snapping pictures and commenting in editorial opinion with the goal of meeting journalistic deadlines and providing the campus with a daily news sheet. But even as the day draws to a close and the Chrony office becomes quiet the editors still do not call it a day. They take turns in "putting the paper to bed" at press. This consists of having a night editor go to the press where the Chrony is printed and read proofs of the stories that will appear the next day. Excitement of first hand information on newly tapped members of honoraries, and stories of such events as the Utah NCAA reprimand make work on the paper challenging and worthwhile. Just as worthwhile are the bonds of friendship existing among staff members. But not all is work in the Chrony office, for office parties and staff change-over parties at mid year add a touch of festivity to the Chronicle world. Enjoyable learning experiences highlighting the year for managing editors were publication conferences held in Florida and Idaho in the fall and spring.
