Show 8'12 handbook of federation procedures Proposed Amendments for Action at the 1968 NATIONAL CONVENTION PRESENT PROPOSED PROPOSED BY THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE Aftillations Aftm.dODl Local clubs, state federations, and the National Fed eration shall not affiliate with joint action groups unless such groups constitute clearing houses that take action only on matters endorsed by local clubs, state federa tions or the National Federation, or unless they are committed to principles endorsed by the Federation. The Affiliations Policy is designed to protect the autonomy of The National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc., and to provide for cooperation with other organizations, the aims of which are compatible with objectives of the National Federa tion. In particular, Federation Policy: ( 1) Permits the affiliation by any specific unit of the Federation-club, district, state, or National with groups or organizations that are committed to principles endorsed by the Federation or that take action only on matters endorsed by the specific unit; or that constitute clearing houses which dissemi nate program information in line with the ob jectives of the Federation. (2) cooperation without. affiliation by specific unit of the Federation with other groups or organizations on specific programs or projects which are compatible with the objec Permits the any tives of the National Federation. ( 3 ) Prohibits the distribution by any specific unit of the Federation of information about or ma terials of organizations with which there is no formal affiliation without specific authorization by the executive committee of that unit. ( 4) Prohibits the use by any other group or organi zation of the name of any specific unit of the Federation or the name and title of its officers, committee members, or staff members without authorization that unit. by the executive committee of (5) Prohibits the use by any officer, committee chairman, member or staff member of her of ficial title in connection with the Federation for participation in another organization for * period longer than her official position or appointment with the Federation without the executive committee of the authority of the specific unit involved. |
