Show , Executive Committee Minutes September 19, 1964 Minutes of Executive Committee meeting of the Utah Federation, Business September 19, 1964, at Hotel Utah, Salt Lake Utah. President Frances Lenox called the meeting to order at 10:45 a.m. and Professional Women 's Clubs, City, Those 'present: President Frances Lenox, second vice president Olga Braden, treasurer Bernice Kendell, recording secretary Anne Kidd, corresponding secretary Vonneta Shanno, and pari iamentai"ian Adelyn Logan. The minutes of the pre-convention executive committee meeting on May 15, read and approved. The minutes of the 1964 convention on 1964, May 16-17, 1964, were recd.icond approved with one correction of a name. The minutes of the were post-convention executive committee meeting, May 17, 1964, wa'l read and approved. The actions taken during Convention were discussed and the ones that should be written up in the first issue of the Utah Business Woman were agreed upon. Rhoda DeVedj editor of the magazine, attended this portion of the meeting. Membership and publ icity awards, the new finance committee, action for executive committee to approve minutes, stamp-book project for Status of Women Committee, and legislative proposal will be written up as news items. Other fea tures of the magazine will include: Report on national convention, presidentjs messcde , Youth Power USA1 report fall board meeting, schedule of district conferences, list of officers and cho irmen, articles about world affairs by members who have traveled during the year. The first issue should be out about November I. on Olga Braden told of a s:::ript about how not to setl BPW and a proposed contest for scripts on how to sell BPW. The minutes of the executive committee meeting of August 29, 1964, were read Upon motion by Olga Braden and seconded by Vonneta Shanno, it was voted that the actions taken at this meeting {at which there was no quorum} be approved and approved. by the execut ive comm ittee. President Frances Lenox stated that she had contacted Leah Dunford and asked her to be chairma-n of Youth Power USA and that she had accepted. Th e objective is a Youth Power Conference before January with follow-up during the year. President Frances read a letter from Emma Miller resigning as chairman of the Legislation Committee as of September 21, 1964. Upon motion by Olga Braden and seconded by Bernice Kendell, it wa s voted to accept this resignation with regret. Adjourned for lunch 12:15 p.m. |
