Show Frisby stated the Executive Committee had accepted the bid and the selection of Mrs Valentine as Chairman. Violet Southard, Moab approved Committee the Executive action be moved ratified. Seconded and motion Club, President carried. President Frisby gave the President's Report, "Accepting the Challenge" in which she gave a report on activities of the National Convention. She set goals for the coming year as follows: (1) Continue the Youthpower USA on a district or area level; (2) Observe National BPW Week throughout the state; (3) Participate in the Criteria Club Program; (4) Participate in the Young Career Woman Program and other activities at the National Convention; (5) accept the challenge to increase membership by 10 percent throughout the state and organize two new clubs. Conferences DeLone Peterson, Logan Club member, reported on the membership meetings held at National Convention. Since Utah is always on the receiving end at these conventions for hospitality gifts and open houses, she felt our State Federation should reciprocate at the National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1966. Anne Kidd reported on the Career Girl Program at the convention and stated that Barbara Jean Merrill, Utah's Career Girl, would be at the Winter Board Meeting. Apna E. Erickson, Editor, reported on the convention magazine workshop. stated the following points should be checked to make certain a good article is submitted for the state magazine: Type the article, double space. all activities; mention include double check names, places, words, etc; new mention members; make sure meeting community contributions; and also dates are listed, and use zip code. Arletta Elton, United Nations Chairman, reported that United Nations Day would be observed Sunday, October 24, the 20th anniversary, and the theme is "Peace and Progress through Cooperation." 2 |
