Theme President Frances Lenox called the meeting to order at 8:45 o sm and extended a welcome to all. Mary Startup (Provo) led the pledge to the flag. Rhoda DeVed (Vernal) gave a devotional thought followed by the invocation by Esther Olsen (Logan). - , The recording secretary called the foil to which "13 answered. The minutes of the Winter Board Meeting of January 26, 1964, were read and approved. The minutes of the breakfast Board Meeting at State Convention, May 16, 1964, were reed and approved. Upon motion by Olga Braden and seconded by Joyce Frisby, it was voted that the executive committee be authorized to approve the minutes of the current meeting. The treasurer gave her report showing a balance of $1,753.04 as of September 15, 1964. The report was accepted for audit. The corresponding secretary read the following correspondence: 1. 2. Release from Dorothy Ford, National Federation, 9bvin9 qualifications of Erma Jane Potter who has been appointed Executive Director of National Federation. Request from Virginia Allen asking for letter to President Johnson expressing endorsement of Dr. Minnie C. Miles on the National Commission on Food and hf\arketing. President Lenox wrote such a letter with copies to our representatives. Moss, Lloyd ardBurton sent favorable replies. 3. National Nominbting Committee asking for nominees for national office. The secretary read the following recommendation from the executive committee: "That individual clubs be responsible for submitting names of nominees for elective national office to the State Nominating Chairman by December 15, 1964, for presentation at Winter Board Meeting on January 24, 1965.11 Upon motion by Ada burt and seconded, it was voted that the recommendation of the executive committee be ratified. 4. Letter of thanks from Virginia Allen for contribut ion to National Committee for Youth Program. Quotations from letters of young women who attended National Convention this year were read to show their appreciation and enthusiasm. |
