Show LEGISLATIVE PLATFORM UTAH FEDERATION OF BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S CLUBS ADOPl'ED AT BRIGHAM CITYj UTAH MAY, 1966 - The following legislative platform was adopted by the Utah Federation The platform is divided of Business and Professional Women's Cl.ubs. ACTION and POLICY. The action items require that into two sections a concerted and oontinuing effort be made to have bIlls introduced covering these items, and subsequent support of the membership to in The policy items should receive member sure their enaotment into lawo - ship support. ACTION. rTEM I: Advance the position of women of the State ot Utah to provide an equal pay for equal work bill; providing tor equal pay tor women employees and prohibiting employers trom discrilninat1ng between the sexes in the payment of wages. ACTION Support legislation to repeal Sections 75-3-17 and 15-4-5. ITEM II: Utah Code Annotated 1953, which limit the right or a.married woman to serve as an executrix or administratrix. Section 75-3-17 now provides: "When an unmarried woman, aPPointed executrix, marries, the court or Judge thereof may, upon motion of any person interested in the estate, revoke her authority and appoint another person in her 1 pace " ••• It Sectlon 75-4-5 now provides: "Wben an objection is made by in interested an estate, a married woman must not any person be appointed administratrix. fuen an unmarried woman apPointed admin1stratrix marrIes, the court may upon the motion or any such interested person, revoke her authority and apPoint another person in her place."
