Show Health - 338 Aug. 21, 1880 Smith, E. F., Physician, Southern Ute Agency Report Smith reports the number of births, deaths, and Indians receiving treatment during the past year. Mar. 5, 1883 (?) Patten, Warren, Agent, So. Ute Agency Letter to Major Smith, Commanding, Ft. Lewis Patten responds to Smith's telegram reporting deaths of Indians in (?). Patten reports that two cases of small pox was reported in that vicinity, but he did not know about deaths. ( text is difficult to read) Aug. 10, 1883 Patten, Warren, Agent, So. Ute Agency Report to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Hand written copy of Patten's annual report on conditions at the agency. He comments on stock raising, the lack of inclination toward farming, recruitment for the school, lack of sickness, civilization, Indian Police, agency buildings and supplies, which are not sufficient in quantity.
