Show Land - 409 Irvine reports on his investigation of the Indian activities in McElmo Valley, Colorado. He suggests that subagencies at two key locations would maintain peace. Stollsteimer, Agent, Ignacio Commander informs agent that he must get orders from higher authority in order to aid the agent in removing settlers from Ute lands. He advises him to write to the Interior Department. May 23, 1887 Stollsteimer, C. F., Agent, So. Ute Agency Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Agent reports on the allotment of land in severalty on the Southern Ute Reservation as per the Allotment Act of Feb. 8, 1887. H., commissioner of Indian Affairs Letter to Thos. McCunniff, Esq. The commissioner sends to McCunniff a letter from the postmaster at McElmo, Utah, wherein he says that white sheepmen are in the habit of grazing their sheep on reservation lands, forcing the Indians to find grass elsewhere.
