Stouch, Cheyenne & Arapaho Agency Custer sends affidavits from George Norris, Charles Buck, Aaron Bear, John Taylor, and John Harrison, stating that James Frost was away from Stouch's agency for three years and married a Ute woman and had a child by her. Hogg, House of Representative Gives lengthy justification for having new school and facilities built at the Fort Lewis School in Breen, Colorado. FRCD/ RG 75 Jan. 8, 1906 Peterson, Wm. M., Supt., Ft. Lewis School Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Peterson reports the death of Anito Brice, the second pupil to die at the school. Anito was a girl about eleven years old, who the Utes had sold to the Navajos. She was rescued and sent to the school. Oct. 22, 1907 Werner, Charles S., Agent, So. Ute Agency Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Agent requests pay for Indian labor be increased, finding workers for the Animas ditch at these wages is difficult, since they can get better wages in the vicinity of their homes.
