Ute Agency Individual reports that Sooners have settled upon disputed territory on reservation border and plan to pay nothing since legitimate boundary does not exist. Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Hammond states that the problems regarding land disputes is the result of misinformation given to the Southern Utes by the authorities in Durango and at the agency. Ute Agency Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Day wants boundaries of the reservation defined; absence of line has made trespassing by settlers difficult to handle.
