Ute Agency Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs He informs the commissioner that an Indian has received a letter from the Uintah Agency informing him that Souix Indians are planning a visit to that agency and invites So. Ute Indians to come and to notify the Navajos of the meeting. Bartholomew advises that " this matter should be closely watched by the Government as in ( his) opinion there is danger in it." FRCD/ RG 75 June 15, 1892 Franks (?), F., Thompson Springs, Utah Letter to Agent, So. Ute Agency " Mariano and party of Utes passed here today in a very peaceable manner going to the Ouray agency. They requested me to say that one of them had lost a ( Hock) horse & saddle in about the blue mountain, and another named Sampson had rheumatism in one leg." Noble, Sec. of the Interior Bartholomew informs Noble that Ignacio has been discharged and he fears, therefore, that there will be trouble when the bands gather at the agency to receive the annuity goods.
