Show Land - 421 Leupp presents a report on the progress toward awarding Southern Ute Indians land in severalty and moving those who chose not to take land to the west end of the reservation. S. S. # 3382/ p. 1001- 1003 Feb. 5, 1896 (?), Durango, Colorado Letter to David Day, So. Ute Agency Day is informed that an error exists in the maps being used for allotment of land. June 11, 1896 Browning, D. M., Commissioner of Indian Affairs Letter to David F. Day, Indian Agent, So. Ute Agency Day is reminded of the provisions of the Act of February 20, 1895, which call for the establishment of an agency at Navajo Springs for the distribution of supplies to the Southern Ute Indians who chose not to accept land in severalty. Day is ordered to make plans for such an agency and submit them to the office for consideration. Agent Day reports the need for improved irrigation for the allotted land and requests money for that purpose. S.
