Ute Agency Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Bartholomew submits his monthly report for November. He comments on a severe snow storm, complaints of Navajo trespassing, Indian dancing in Durango, whiskey sells to So. Ute Indians, and " no symptoms of what is known as the ' Messiah craze' have yet been observable." Oct. 4, 1891 Bartholomew, Chas. A., Indian Agent, So. Ute Agency Open Letter to Citizens ( of McElmo ?) Indian gathering at McElmo Canyon has alarmed settlers in the area.
