Show MEMO TO: FROM: DATE: RE: Wilson and Max Charles ~ 3 February 1989 Rehabi.litation of the Ephraim Co-op -- Second Report On Saturday, January 28th, I met with several members of the Sanpete Trade Association/Ephraim CLG to help them with the programming of functions and rehabilitation of the Ephraim Co-op and Relief Society Granary. Most of the functions described in my preliminary report were accurate. We were able to go through al1 three buildings (including the "House") with Craig Paulsen, an experienced preservation/rehabilitation general contractor from Spring City. I also measured the "House" so some schematic drawings could be produced. On Sunday and Monday, 1 worked on these schematic drawings and then met with Craig Paulsen on Monday af'crnoon. He took the drawings to use in developing some estimates. He indicated that his estimates would likely be in two separate categories: (1) relatively specific numbers for the exterior restoration and (2) 'per square foot' estimates for the interior work since there are so many unknowns here. Craig was planning on giving the estimates to the Ephraim folks on Wednesday so they would have them for the CIB meeting yesterday. For the next phase of this project, the Ephraim CLG will likely meet with Alan Roberts to discuss his possible involvement in developL'1g construction documents for the project. (Alan has written them expressing his continued interest in the project.) I may be asked for some additional participation, but I anticipate that it will be relatively minor. |
