Show rescription of the HABSjHAER Checklist 'Ihe HABSjHAER checklist is sorted al~tically by state, ca.mty cede, city or ta..m name arrl record name. 'Ihe state is in::licated by the first two c.'1aracters of the HABS or HAm number. 'Ihese dlaracters are the starrlard abbreviations for states, cc:mn::::>rrwealths arrl territories. 'Ihe ca.mties are sorted by the three digit FIPS ca.mty cede, hCMeVer, it is the ca.mty name that ar:pears in the checklist. Generally the cn.mties are listed al~tically, but there are states that have m..micipalities outside of ca.mties. 'Ihese states include MaIylarrl, Missarri, Nevada arrl Virginia. Look to the ern of the state's listinJ for the above states to firrl larger cities, e.g.; carson City is at the ern of the Nevada listinJ. 'Ihere is a page break at the ern of each state listinJ. 'Ihe structure narre is listed as "RECNAME" for rec:ord narre. Also on this line is the Library of Co~ shelf cede, which is assigned by the Library after the dcx::urrentation has been transmitted fran the HABSjHAER office. 'Ihe Secorrlary Narre fields appear on the next two lines (SNAMEDNE, SNAMEIWJ, SNAMEIHREE, SNAMEFaJR). 'Ihese fields contain any secorrlary names, c::arrtnents or other amplifyinJ information. 'Ihe type, anount arrl location of the dcx::urrentation is fourrl on the right side of the checklist. 'Ihere are two possible locations for the dcx::urrentation; the HABSjHAER office (HH) or the Prints arrl Rlotcgra!Xls Division of the Library of Co~ (LC). An "X" is placed in the column belON' "HH" or "lC" to in::licate the location of the dcx::urrentation. It is possible for dcx::urrentation to be fourrl in both locations as supplerrental documents are aa;IUired by the HABSjHAER office. 'Ihe numbers in the columns labelled "m-;G", "FHOT" arrl "Di\TA" in::licate the numbers of drawin;rs, photos arrl data pages respectively. |
