| Abstract |
This collection contains bound volumes of minutes of the Board of Regents meetings, including accompanying materials, such as contracts, correspondence, meeting minutes of subordinate committees, and faculty newsletters. The Board of Regents historically served as the governing body of the University of Utah. In 1969 the name was changed to the Institutional Council (the State Board of Higher Education later adopted the name of State Board of Regents). In 1991 the Institutional Council became the current Board of Trustees. |

Show 162 the June Commencement take place at this time, Before the voting proceeded, Regent Evans, with a brief explanation, requested that his name be removed from the list of candidates, Regent McShane thereupon so moved, seconded by Regent Latter. A discussion followed, after which Regent McShane withdrew his motion with the consent of Regent Latter, who seconded the motion, Regent Evans then moved that his name be withdrawn. Before the motion was seconded, Regent Woolley questioned Regent Evans‘ right to Withdraw his name. Regent Evans then explained that it would be an embarrassing procedure to himo It was the consensus that Regent Evans could withdraw his name from the list, and Regent Bamberger thereupon seconded Regent Evans" motion which carried. Attention was then called to a letter received by the Secretary from Regent Eccles, in which he re- quested his vote be cast for Regent Evans, and that if Regent Evans should not qualify to the end of the voting, that his proxy be given to Regent Arthur Woolley for further balloting. Regent Bowen thereupon moved that voting for Regent Eccles by Regent Woolley be cons idered valid Motion seconded and carried. |
