Show committee report to the .Board at the next meeting. Regent McShane seconded the motion which carried. President Olpin reported that the Lederle LaboraLEDERLE FE LLOW SHIP DISCONTINUED tories, a Division of the American Cyanamid Company, ' has officially notified him that effective December 31, 1953, a grant of $4, 000 to support a University of Utah Doctorate Research Fellowship will be discontinued. It was reported by President Olpin that the Radio Committee is having difficulty securing time on TV programs, consequently our educational programs are not as numerous as they have been. On motion of Regent Culp, seconded by Regent Bamberger, the Board approved a recommendation from Dr. John Z. Bowers, Dean, College of Medicine, and LEO SAMUELS GRANTED LEAVE endorsed by President Olpin, that Dr. Leo T. Samuels be given a leave of absence from his duties as Professor and Head of the Department of Biochemistry for the period June 14 to July 14, 1954, in order that he might accompany a team of three endocrinologists to give lectures in Germany under the sponsorship of the Unitarian Service Committee.
