Show 97 Mr. Kress will visit Salt Lake next fall to look over the University‘s museum facilities. KRESS ART In the mean- COLLECTION time, President Olpin has been invited by Mr. Kress to be his week-end guest in the east to see his collection. The President reported receipt of numerous communications concerning the television broadcast of the Utah-BYU football game on Thanksgiving Day. Special recognition of and appreciation for the efforts of President Olpin, the public-relations staff, athletic board, and athletic staff in the promotion and production of the "Game of the Week" were expressed in communications from General Motors corporation, National Broadcasting System, National Collegiate Athletic Association, etc. These letters of special interest were called to the attention of the Board. The conference Commissioner received a check for $120, 000 for the game, and this money has been divided between the conference schools, with one-‘eleventh going to the support of the Office of the Commissioner of the Skyline Conference. The University's share of the check amounted to $26, 436. 97; however there were permanent and temporary installation expenditures of $9, 449, 94 to be charged against this income. The gate receipts, after allowing for the expenses of the game, were divided between the participating schools. |
