Show 96 on higher education in Arizona, and that he had observed many things of interest in educational circles. Regent Cosgriff arrived. The President reported that Mr. Ernest V. Hollis, Chief, College Administration, U.,S. Office of Education, as chairman of the committee studying higher education in Arizona, met with the Utah's Legislative Council sub- committee on December 7 to discuss problems of higher education. A meeting has been scheduled for January 7, when the whole committee will begin discussions of problems concerned with coordinating the higher education program in this State. (See Board minutes September 14, 1953) The President reported that while he was in Tucson, Arizona, he had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Bush S. Kress. The Kress Foundation, which owns more paintings by the great masters than almost any other organization, is making contributions to museums in some twenty cities of the country. Mr. Kress is anxious to include Salt Lake City as one of these centers. The collection assigned to any one center is worth about one million dollars. Mr. James W. Collins of this city, a long-time friend of Mr. Kress, has been promoting this project for Utah.
