| Abstract |
This collection contains bound volumes of minutes of the Board of Regents meetings, including accompanying materials, such as contracts, correspondence, meeting minutes of subordinate committees, and faculty newsletters. The Board of Regents historically served as the governing body of the University of Utah. In 1969 the name was changed to the Institutional Council (the State Board of Higher Education later adopted the name of State Board of Regents). In 1991 the Institutional Council became the current Board of Trustees. |

Show the Committee recommend to the Board that its fiscal agent, Edward L. Burton and Company, be requested to call for bids on the sale of the bonds. On motion of Regent Eccles the foregoing recommendattion was unanimously adopted by the Board. Chairman O'Connor stated that one of the purposes . of the Board meeting of this date was to consider a . . ,. UNION BUILDING RESOLUTION resolution aut-homz'mg a $1,800, 000. 00 Student Union ON BOND ISSUE ADOPTED Building bond issue and introduced the attached resolu- tion which was read by the Secretary. Pursuant to a motion made by Regent Bamberger and seconded by Regent Eccles, the resolution was adopted, all members present voting "aye" and upon being signed by Chairman O'Connor and the Secretary declared to be in effect. The following resolution providing for a site for RESOLUTION ON SITE FOR the construction of the Union Building was adopted on ' UNION BUILDING ADOPTED motion of Regent Culp seconded by Regent McShane: 135.9293: 921.95 WHEREAS, the Board of Regents‘of the University of Utah has undertaken to construct, equip and furnish a Students' Union Building on the campus. as a self-liquidating project in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 38 of Title 53 of the Utah Code Annotated, 1953, NOW THEREFORE, in order to. effectuate said purpose, and subject to and in accordance with said statute, the Board of Regents of the University of Utah hereby sets aside as a necessary and suitable site for the erection of said Students' Union Building that part and portion of the campus of the University described as follows: |
