Show 31+ developed with reSpect to the administration of the Hospital and its effect on the functioning of the College of Medicine. The General Hospital comes under the adminis- tration of the Salt Lake County Commissioners, thereby being a politically controlled institution. Drs. Wintrobe, Price and ChristenSe‘n were also invited to discuss the matter. In the discussion, it was pointed out that under the present regime, perSonnel have been dismissed-by the Assistant Superintendent Without consultation with the hospital Superintendent or the Medical College staff. The Assistant Superintendent was appointed by the present County Commissioner in charge, viz. , Adiel Stewart. Mr. George Stone, Superintendent, was appointed some time ago by the then incumbent commissioners, two of whom were succeeded in office on January 1, 1953, as a result of the November 1952 general election. The administrative methods adopted and carried out by the Assistant Superintendent, appointed by the County Commissioner now in charge, have given the Superintendent no opportunity, whatsoever, for exer- cising administrative control of the Hospital.
