General Accounting Office has computed an overhead figure for the University for the year 1952-53 of 25, 78%, which is lower than the figure of last year. The principal reason for the reduction in overhead cost OVERHEAD FIGURE COMPUTED ON RESEARCH CONTRACTS is the increasing portion of our budget going into salaries. The number of cooperative research contracts was also reported, and the change in income expected if and when the new rates take effect. It was left to the President to determine if the new rate is acceptable.
